V Belts, Wedge Belts and Pulleys

V Belts, Wedge Belts and PulleysClassic V-belts and high capacity wedge belts remain the most widely used belt/pulley system around today. They are proven to offer a dependable service with a minimum of maintenance in a variety of medium and heavy duty mechanical drive applications.

Raw edge cogged  vee and wedge belts, enable the use of smaller pulley diameters and so save costs on drive design.

A wide product range is available in both Medway and Dunlop brands.

Poly-V (Ribbed) Belts and Pulleys

Ribbed belts and pulleysRibbed belts and pulleys are ideally suited for high-speed and/or high-drive ratio applications that conventional V-belt drives are not suitable for.

They offer a smooth, vibration free performance, in a single compact drive belt, which is resistant to heat and abrasion so leading to a longer life.

A wide product range is available in both Medway and Hutchinson brands.

Timing Belts and Pulleys

Timing belts and pulleysToday's synchronous drive belt and pulley systems require more HP/KW, higher torque, lower speeds and a smoother, quieter operation.

Medway timing belts and pulleys deliver positive, trouble free power transmission in torque ranges that were only previously serviced by gear and chain components.

Our timing belts offer the best possible technology for synchronous drives allowing excellent mechanical efficiency, resistance to high and intermittent overloads, together with low fitting tensions.

A wide product range is available in both Medway and Dunlop brands.

Roller Chains and Sprockets

Roller Chain and SprocketsRoller chain and sprockets provide high power, synchronous drive systems suitable for a wide range of applications. They are manufactured from high quality materials and finished to tight dimensional tolerances.

Our roller chains and sprockets are available in a wide range of materials and finishes such as steel, stainless steel and nickel plated coatings.

Such components will permit the functioning of precision a gear system.

A wide product range is available in both Medway and Renold brands.

Couplings

CouplingsCouplings are used to connect two shafts together at their ends  for the purpose of transmitting power. They are either rigid or flexible and are used in a variety of industrial drive systems.

Rigid couplings are best used for precise alignment and secure hold.  By precisely aligning the two shafts and holding them firmly in place, rigid couplings help to maximize performance and increase the expected life of the drive system.

Flexible couplings are used when two shafts are slightly misaligned. As well as connecting misaligned shafts, flexible couplings can absorb shock, damp out vibration and reduce noise.

Weld On and Bolt On Hubs

Weld on and bolt on hubsHubs come in two types, weld-on hubs or bolt-on hubs, and are used in conjunction with taper bushes and adapters, to create a location point for a drive shaft, in plate wheels, gears, and other rotational components.

A weld-on hub is fixed to its mating component at a pre-machined location point, then welded firmly into position. Weld on hubs are manufactured from steel. They are drilled, tapped and taper-bored. A shoulder is machined to the outer diameter for welding to its mating component.

Bolt-on hubs are manufactured from cast iron. They are drilled, tapped and taper bored. The outer flange has pre-tapped holes for fixing to its mating component.

Taper Bushes and Adaptors

Taper Bushes and AdaptorsTaper bushes are the most convenient and cost effective method of fixing drive components to a mating shaft.

They can be used with all belt pulleys, sprockets, couplings, hubs and adaptors and form a vital link between shaft and component. Adaptors are available for use in parallel bore components, thereby eliminating the need to drill, tap and taper bore.

Motor Slide Bases

Motor Slide BasesMotor slide bases are a cost effective method of mounting electric motors, that may require adjustment to centre distances or where re tensioning may be required.
